Beams & Timber
Old Time Lumber offers both graded and ungraded beams and timbers, cut to your specifications. We can create sizes ranging from 4" x 4" to 20" x 20", with lengths up to 24 feet, depending on our available log stock.
In addition to custom cuts, we also stock standard sizes, including:
4"x6" timbers (available in 8' and 16')
6"x6" timbers (available in 8' to 16')
4"x4" timbers (available in 8' to 16')
A selection of other sizes
We can grade our beams and timbers for special requests according to Timber Product Inspection rules. We also offer grading for customer-supplied rough lumber for a fee, but this service is only available at our facility.
Our beams are crafted from quality tree species, including Ponderosa Pine, Lodgepole Pine, Douglas Fir, and Engelmann Spruce.
Fencing
Old Time Lumber currently offers these dimensions & types for fencing:
Edged Slabs: Available in 4" and 6" widths, our edged slabs are perfect for various projects.
Pine Boards: We offer 1" pine boards in lengths ranging from 8' to 16', with custom cutting available for shorter lengths. Widths range from 4" to 12", ensuring you find the perfect fit for your needs.
Snowfence Boards: Our 1x6 boards are 8' long and come in economy quality. Priced by the quantity of 100 boards, they provide an affordable option for your fencing needs.
Firewood
Old Time Lumbers' split, dry, seasoned, firewood is cut to length and split in the spring and summer months to ensure it is dry, easy to light, and ready for pickup year-round. Dry, 16"x18", Pine Firewood.
It is sold in two ways; premeasured in large crates 4'x4'x8' (cord size), or in a small stack 3'x4'x18".
Logs: Peeled & Natural
Our hand-peeled logs are available in various sizes, from 2 inches in diameter—perfect for handrails—to an impressive 30 inches, ideal for entranceways. Whether you prefer graded or ungraded logs starting from 4 inches in diameter, we have options to suit your needs.
Each log is peeled by hand using a draw knife, ensuring the authentic contours of the wood are preserved. Unlike imitation methods that use electric planers or pole peelers, our process is truly artisanal.
Visit our log yard to personally select the perfect logs for your project, or let us choose them based on your specifications. With a vast selection of logs available in lengths up to 45 feet, you’re sure to find exactly what you need.
For an additional nominal fee, we can also saw flat surfaces onto your logs, making them suitable for beams, corner posts, or other structural elements. Plus, we offer half-sawn logs for steps, staircase runners, wall mounts, and more.
Rough Lumber
Standard Size Rough Lumber
Our lumber is cut to full dimensions, meaning a 2"x4" board is truly 2"x4", not the typical 1½"x3½". We pride ourselves on providing genuine rough lumber that meets your needs.
Custom Sawmill Orders
We can saw rough lumber to any dimensions, with a minimum size of 1"x1" and 8 feet in length, up to a maximum of 20"x20" and 24 feet long. Pricing for custom orders will always be competitive with standard full-dimension rough cut lumber, though it may vary based on order volume and log availability.
Stocked Lumber Sizes
In addition, we offer 2" thick lumber in widths of 4", 6", 8", 10", and 12", available in lengths from 8 to 16 feet (in 2-foot increments). Our 1" thick rough cut lumber is stocked in the same widths and lengths.
Grading and Surface Texture
Our rough lumber is graded according to Timber Product Inspection standards, available for an additional fee. The surface texture varies depending on whether the logs are sawn from dry, green, or frozen wood.
You can choose between a circle sawn or band sawn surface, with standard pricing for a combination of both.
Moisture Content
The moisture content of our rough sawn lumber ranges from 100% green to a dry 6%. We do not categorize our lumber by moisture content. Please note that pine, being an open-grain wood, will absorb or release moisture quickly based on environmental conditions.
We do not kiln dry our lumber. If you require a specific moisture content, we recommend bringing your own moisture meter for accuracy.
Sawdust & Shavings
Coarse Sawdust & Shavings Mixture
Old Time Lumber offers a premium mixture of coarse sawdust and shavings made from 100% pine, free of any hardwoods. Our sawdust features small cubes, approximately 1/8 inch in size, and contains no sanding dust, making it ideal for your projects.
Pick-Up Times
You’re welcome to load by hand anytime during our operating hours.
On Saturdays, we provide loading assistance with a front loader from 10 AM to 2 PM for open-top vehicles.
Additionally, we occasionally have semi-loads, which contain approximately 110 cubic yards of material.
